Apologies to alltheircrimesarejust and moonlight69 for disappearing last night, but my closing my eyes for a minute turned into crawling into bed not long after.

For lack of anything better, I'm calling it a migraine. I could barely read the words on my computer screen, the pain came in waves with a dull ache that would get HOLYSHIT every few minutes, and I nearly lost my dinner. And Advil didn't touch it, neither did the tylenol I took a few hours later.

I think by the time I tried to use caffeine, it was just too late.

I never, ever want to have that kind of pain again.

Ever. I'd rather go through labor again.

Anyone have any good stuff that works for this? Should I ask doc for Imitrex, does it work? Is there something OTC that works?

Temporarily off-line well I set up my new baby!!!

Migration assistant says two and a half hours to full transfer, then I'm back in business and better than ever. Computer-wise anyway :P

Edit: Yeah, okay, the new shiny totally took over my night - between getting my files sorted and just basking in the pretteh.

All right all you Apple sorts.

I started the Apple madness in my house with my third gen iPod...in 2003. For a while, I was the only one with an iPod and then David decided he wanted one. Seemed stupid to have separate IDs, so I just had him sign on with mine. Same with DJ and with Zach.

DJ has his own account now, but David, Zach and I are still connected to the same Apple ID.

With the fact that David and I now have iPhones, he has an iPad and a Mac, i have a MacBook now and a Book Pro on the way, and the advent of iCloud on our horizon....

My question is...is there a way to get separate Apple IDs for David, Zach and I...without us losing our iTunes/apps/movies?

(I know we can set up separate iCloud accounts, but for right now, I'm just thinking about carving out our Apple ID...)

Not for me for...DJ, believe it or not.

Seriously. We came home from seeing The Hunger Games and he decided he wanted to read it. And he did...in a week. Then he asked me to help him get a Fire because he hated carrying books around. I went half with him and boom. He's devouring books like a termite in a wood pile.

Yeah, you read that right. DJ. The gamer.

So! My problem is that I'm running out of things to recommend for him. Right now he's eating up dystopian/post-apocalyptic stuff.

To date, he has read:

Tournament weekend halfway over.

Scores in:

DJ's team: 2 wins, 0 losses. 6 goals scored, clean sheet
Zach's team: 2 wins, 0 losses, 8 goals scored, 1 against.

Which means both will probably play their championship games tomorrow afternoon...unless DJ's division decides against the championship (the way the standings are now, the team they play tomorrow am would be the team they'd play for the championship.)

I'm exhausted, the last game was a near nightmare of bad calls and crappy conditions/crappy fields.

Both boys have game at 10.45 tomorrow am, so we'll have to rock paper scissors for who goes to which.

Sheesh.

It's tournament weekend. By Sunday I'll look like *points to icon*

Last time I'll be juggling two team schedules and that's kind of bittersweet.

And, of course, the schedule's nuts. Games at the same time, one team playing in Va Beach, one playing 40 minutes away in Suffolk. At least one game at the same time.

And both teams have a shot at the Championship games which are, natch, AT THE SAME TIME.

I'll be around evenings as always - daytimes are going to be non-existant for tags, but still available for emails *pets phone*

I was going to put up a slowtime notice for the game - but this will probably serve that purpose well enough. I think the only people who'd need to know are on here already *waves*

After crazy insane day at work I went downtown with best friend Kathy to see this and also to watch her daughter dance there (she's competed in Irish dance since she was 8 - she's 16 now). Awesome night. Seriously freaking incredible. I have a pounding damned headache now but it was SO worth it. All the Armed Services bands were there and moving me as ever. Also had some foreign bands/performers, too.

And the pipers. My God. I had chills half the time they were playing and then at the end, they played Amazing Grace. Yeah. I was in freaking tears. It was so beautiful.

(If you truly want to appreciate that song, see the movie Amazing Grace. You will never hear it sung, or more to the point, never hear it played by pipers, without completely losing it.)

I meant to do more tonight, especially my fairly pathetic SotP - but that will have to wait until tomorrow. Now I need to do my catch ups, wait for my headache to leave, then get to bed. 8 am soccer game. Should be a law, man.

For those curious, the pay thing got untangled.

HR offered me the new position with the remark that it was exempt (internal code for salaried). New manager was told it was an exempt position. Everyone cruising along fine.

No one told Payroll, however. Payroll believes my position is non-exempt (hourly).

No timesheets were submitted...no pay processed. Awesome, huh?

So everyone was all apologies today and bending over backwards to get it fixed. Thankfully, they're able to run a separate check for me, so I'll get all the back pay and current pay on Friday.

Not too thrilled about being hourly again because I liked losing the habit of filling out my timesheet every week...but overtime's pretty cool.

The thing that gets me is payroll had an active employee with no FMLA in place that wasn't submitting time for 3 weeks. One would think that would raise a flag somewhere, maybe an email to my supervisor saying "Hey, have you heard from Employee Doe? Has she abandoned her job?"

Blarg. At least it's all figured out.

Nothing like having Einstein confirm that I'm insane. At least I stopped myself before I even opened a blank email for the app. Maybe there's hope for me yet.

Oh yeah. And in other really cool news, looks like I'm not getting paid at the moment. Some sort of disconnect happened when I went from hourly to salaried - either in payroll or in me not being told what changed in the way I report time (always thought salaried didn't report it). But anyway, I haven't been paid for any hours since I started at the new position.

Awesome, huh?

I know I'll eventually get paid, it's just a matter of waiting for payroll to process the shit. Still sucks and I feel like a moron having to email new manager about it. "Oh yeah, I'm such a derp I just noticed I'm not getting paid..."

Long day yesterday. Started out with sick kid, middle section was a crappy soccer game, ended with a harrowing drive to Fredericksburg in some of the worst traffic I've seen in years. Literally. It was a 30mph hour drive from the Richmond I295-95 merge to Fredericksburg. For reference, that section usually takes maybe 40 minutes....yesterday it took me 2 hours. Ugh.

End result was SO worth it, though. I got to have dinner and trade RPG shop talk with tryslora. We walked around her campground for 2 hours talking and venting and trading character stories. It was beyond brilliant finally meeting her after 5.5 years of gaming together on and off.

And the venting was very much needed. For both of us.

Have a few things to get accomplished today - grocery, laundry, etc, and then hoping to get an EP for my newest boy. Then I have to gear up for my girl's item post. That one's going to mess with her head a lot and since her head isn't the best place right how, it's going to be interesting. Jack should probably get some air time, too.

I think mostly, though, I'm readjusting myself to my earlier zen and letting go of shit I can't control...in all aspects of my life.

Good plan, yes?

That's about it. Some good, some bad, some meh. I'll call it a break even week and go on from there.

Edited to add: The most surreal moment of my whole week? Last night, watching Enchanted with my 15 year old, my 18 year old, and his best friend (my other son B, metal head, long hair, already inked on his arms) and he was freaking INTO it with "dude, I love this part." No lie, no bullshit, he wanted to watch through to the end.

You might be happy to know that even now we not only have active readers...but they're vociferous when the site disappears. I had a glitch with a credit card and had to get a new card last month. I decided it was the perfect time to not renew the site, let it drift off into memory.

That lasted a few weeks. Then the emails started coming, and the messages to the secondary message board site they set up when we closed the RS ones. Everyone wanted to know what had happened, where had it gone. There was wailing...rending of garments.

Kinda awesome, actually.

RS.org will be ten years old later this year. And our baby is still feeling the love.

I'm so proud =)

I've just done the state file for the last time in EVER!!!

And in other news, in less than 12 hours, I'll be getting home from the midnight showing of Hunger Games and I'm so nervous/excited about the movie I can barely keep still. I keep squeaking at random moments as the glee escapes.

(Random cast note - saw Josh H on Letterman last night and, no lie, with everything this kid's got going on, he was bragging about his little brother last night. On Letterman. Mad props, dude. From younger siblings everywhere.)

Zach's cast is off!!!!!

Thus ends two very long months of helping with showers, homework, etc. after years of him being self sufficient. He's as excited about this as I am...he hated having to ask for help for things he was used to just doing.
